I have seen quite a few complaints about the lack of sharpness to Toothless’ teeth. Let me shine some light on this.
If you look at many large predators, lions, bears, tigers, wolves, alligators; their teeth really aren’t that sharp (see the examples I have provided)
Lions, when hunting, kill by suffocating the animal (not by ripping it up as most people assume) the strength of their ability to kill isn’t found in sharp teeth, it’s found in speed, physical strength and a powerful bite.
If a large predator had Sharp teeth the thin edge it would take to make a sharp point would not last, it would break very easily when the animal goes to bite down. Large prey would thrash and snap sharp teeth very quickly resulting in a lost meal and a loss of teeth (which most likely would Not grow back, especially since they would be Broken not Missing).
Rounded teeth and a powerful jaw is key in large predators when hunting. So, now you know. Thank you for reading.
Awesome analysis!! That is so interesting.
Thank you kindly~
